THE OUTSTANDING BUILDING OF THE YEAR (TOBY) AWARD is the most prestigious andcomprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry. The objective of the TOBY awards is to recognize excellence in building management, operational efficiency, sustainability, tenant retention, emergency planning and community impact. The competition begins with the local BOMA/Chicago awards. Winners will be announcedat the Gold Circle Awards Gala Celebration in late January, 2011. The Chicago winners go on to compete in theNorth Central Region (Illinois Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky) TOBY Awards in February 2011.To enter the Regional Awards program, a very detailed overview of the building must be submitted electronically.Access to complete an electronic submission will be provided to the buildings which win BOMA/Chicago TOBY Awards.The Regional winners compete in the international competition which is also electronic submission. The winners ofthe International TOBY Awards will be announced at the North America Commercial Real Estate Congress and The Office Building Show in mid-summer, 2011. · 250,000 - 499,000 Square Feet · 500,000 - 1 Million Square Feet
· Over 1 Million Square Feet · Renovated Building
· Historical Building · Corporate Facility
· Government Building · Medical Office Building
· Suburban Office Park - Mid-Rise (1-5 stories) · Suburban Office Park - Mid-Rise (6-10 stories)
· Industrial Office Park · Earth


TOBY Application Tips: Print the form so you will have a copy of the questions. Compose your answers in Word and paste into the electronic entry form. Save a copy of the questions and your answers to them. Use the information in the Entry Requirements to help you write your answers to that you will be prepared to enter the Regional Award Competition if your Building wins locally.
